  • A rustic, hearty pumpernickel loaf made with organic stoneground dark rye flour, sourdough starter, Guinness (a dark stout beer), cocoa powder and molasses, which creates notes of coffee, chocolate, and sweetness in the loaf.

    Our pumpernickel is wonderful as sandwich bread or cut into thick cubes and dipped into spinach dip (our personal favourite way to enjoy this loaf).

    As with all of our sourdough breads, they're 100% true sourdough using our three year old sourdough starter, The Doughager Countess (named after Maggie Smith's character in Downton Abbey - Violet Crawley, The Dowager Countess of Grantham).

  • Organic whole rye flour, whole wheat flour, organic hard red spring wheat flour, Guinness (water, malted barley, barley, roasted barley, hops, nitrogen, yeast), organic cocoa powder (organic cocoa, potassium carbonate), fancy molasses, sourdough starter (organic hard red spring wheat flour, water [filtered]), fine sea salt, water (filtered).

    Organic white rice flour is used for non-stick purposes.

  • Contains rye (gluten), wheat (gluten), barley (gluten).

    Vegetarian and vegan-friendly.
