A kitchen staple sourdough loaf made with 80% freshly milled organic hard red wheat flour from 1847 Stone Milling and 20% organic whole grain whole wheat flour from Anita’s Organic Grain & Mill for added texture, flavour and nutrition.
From 1847 Stone Milling’s website: “All our flours are certified organic and NON-GMO, ensuring the highest quality ingredients for your baking. Plus, our flours are unfortified therefore not enriched with iron, folic acid or additives of any kind.”
Whole grains are rich in protein, vitamins and fibre, keeping you satisfied for longer, while also lowering blood sugar and nourishing your microbiome.
As with all of our sourdough breads, they're 100% true sourdough using our four year old sourdough starter, The Doughager Countess (named after Maggie Smith's character in Downton Abbey - Violet Crawley, The Dowager Countess of Grantham). -
Organic hard red wheat, sourdough starter (organic hard red wheat, water [filtered]), fine sea salt, water (filtered).
Organic white rice flour is used for non-stick purposes. -
